Why is dust a problem?
During converting, substrates become static charged. This attracts dust and micro-particles like a magnet. These may be metal particles, plastic, rust, and even insects from the production environment. But also particulates released from the material itself.
Especially with products that require further processing, this causes problems. Consider paper and cardboard — dust, fibres, and trim that remain on them cause poor print quality, rejected material, in other words: waste.
When it comes to packaging for medicines or food products, health issues come into play. Dust and production residues are a no-go here. A crushed insect on your milk carton? Preferably not. Institutes such as the American FDA and, in the Netherlands, the Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority set high standards for the hygiene and quality of such packaging materials.
Glass manufacturing also generates dust and unwanted particles that complicate further processing. Examples include coatings that won’t adhere or air bubbles caused by even the smallest dust particles.
But one of the most significant hazards is the presence of dust in the work environment. These are responsible for health complaints, which can be costly to both employees and employers.

So I developed images in which the target group recognizes itself but simultaneously expresses the Weducon identity.
